We believe Christ-centered community happens most effectively in small groups – typically around 10 to 13 people who meet together in a leader's home for fellowship, study, and prayer. The heart of Village Groups is to facilitate the growth of authentic relationships in which members can:

  • Truly know others in the church and be known by them.

  • Share joys, struggles, needs, and resources.

  • Honestly wrestle with this life of faith.

  • Encourage each another in our walk with Christ.

Matt and Melissa Hargrove have three biological children, and they are currently in the process of adopting their current foster care placement, a spunky 4-year-old boy. They believe community is an important part of growing in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Accountability and encouragement through fellowship, Bible study, and quality relationships has been a significant part of the spiritual growth of their family. Matt and Melissa also lead the Middle School Ministry here at Village Church.

The Hargroves' Village Group meets on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. in their home.

Bryan and Kristie have served as small group leaders in Celebrate Recovery (a Christ-centered recovery program) for several years. They both have a passion for helping others find healing from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups through Jesus. In addition, Kristie serves on the worship team and on the Village Church board. Bryan leads the audio/visual team and also volunteers as the Village Church intern, where he is actively engaged in several outreach initiatives, speaking engagements, and other ministry opportunities.

The couple married in 2015 and is blessed with a blended family, including Zachary and Abby.

Chris & Katie Epp

Chris and Katie have three children: Lydia, Abby, and Gabriel. In 2015 they returned to Katie's home in Smiths Station after serving in ministry for several years in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where they were foster, adoptive, and homeschool parents, and where Chris served as director of a discipleship training center. The Epps are engaged in the mission of Village Church and its ministries, including Village Kidz, Thrive Women's Ministry, Come Away Missions to Rwanda, the Worship Team, Men's Ministry, the Food Pantry, and various community outreach initiatives. "My heart is to encourage believers to go deeper in their faith, in both knowing God and doing his work while exemplifying this basic human purpose in my own life,” Chris says. “The more we know Christ's love, the more we want to do His will and finish His work. We can do this! Let's do it together!"

The Epps’ Village Group meets on Wednesday evenings in their home.

Steve and Donna have been part of Village Church since it began in 2014 as a church plant of Christ Community Church. When they were members at Christ Community, the Dicksons were leaders of a small group, and now they feel God leading them to begin one at Village Church as well. One of Steve's spiritual gifts is teaching, and he believes Bible study and relationship building is essential for the body of Christ. Steve also serves on the board at Village Church and is involved in the music ministry as a drummer. Donna loves to cook and bake for others, and she’s an active part of THRIVE women’s ministry. The couple has four grown children and five grandchildren (so far).

Steve and Donna’s group meet the first and third Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in their home. Their small group is ideal for single adults or couples who are empty nesters.
